CONVENIENCE OF A PAMPHLET
The director of WRCNU wanted us to create a document that would appeal to hunters in the most efficient way. One of their needs was to create a document that could be passed on easily at local community events or to visitors that bring in injured animals. By creating a pamphlet, WRCNU will be able to conveniently educate the public on the effects of lead poisoning.
Our first step in creating the pamphlet was to interview the board director of the WRCNU. Haley stayed in constant contact with the NPO to inform them of our progress. We then created drafts and met once or twice a week to talk about how we could improve the documents and what the NPO requested. We continuously checked up and researched different websites that would give us the most useful information, such as government and educational websites. We would then compile our information, remove unnecessary content and summarize the information into a pamphlet. Below are the rough drafts along with the design process. Feel free to click on any rough or final drafts of our pamphlet. You can also download the pamphlet here:

FIRST DRAFT: TITLES AND TEXT
Initially we started with a rough layout and added the research each individual had conducted. We wanted the pamphlet to be organized with the titles and paragraphs relating to the NPO's needs. As you can see, the pamphlet needed more editing and pictures to become complete.
SECOND DRAFT: ADDING PICTURES
After adding all the text we included pictures from WRCNU. The pictures helped to reinforce the main concepts of our pamphlet. Some of the pictures also have text underneath to give the audience a better understanding of how dangerous lead is.
THIRD DRAFT: TEXT CHANGES + REFORMATTING
When the layout was complete we proofread our pamphlet and realized that many of our paragraphs did not make sense. As you can see, the text we edited is in red and the revised text is in blue. We also omitted redundant information and changed some sentences to be more positive about using non-lead bullets. One of the needs of WRCNU was to make sure that the pamphlet does not come off negatively, but rather educate hunters and the community on the effects of lead. We also added new information because we left out an important aspect of educating the audience.

After we made revisions to our text and finalized the photos we were able to edit and complete the pamphlet. The colors we picked correspond to WRCNU's logo. We also added more references at the end in case readers wanted to find out more information about the dangers of lead. Overall, we felt happy about how the pamphlet turned out since the research we compiled and added gave us the experience to create a professional document.
